In order to reach home users with its Aspire range of desktop solutions, Acer
has announced its plans to appoint retailers. This addition to its existing
channel network will happen by the end of August.
The company says it plans to appoint retailers in phases starting from the
southern region. "We would be appointing around 10 franchisees in the south
who would address the home segment," says S Rajendran, GM - Marketing, Acer
India.
He also points out that this initiative will not affect company’s present
channel network as it plans to roll out special initiatives to help the channel
focus on niche verticals such as export-oriented units, educational institutions
and government departments among others. Currently Acer operates through a
three-tiered channel network consisting of national distributors, premier
partners and resellers.
