Acer rolls out handhelds

Acer Inc has rolled out two new handhelds: s50 and s60. These handhelds are

powered by Palm operating system and have a full color LCD screen with

adjustable brightness and built-in backlight functions.

They come with Motorola DragonBall VZ processor at 33MHz, upgradeable flash

ROM and 16 MB memory. Among range of applications are: Address book, date book,

to do list, memo pad, mail, calculator, as well as Acer´s supplementary

applications, such as clock, PhotoWiz, WalkReader, Filer, Backup, and Service

Launcher.

The handhelds have integrated memory stick expansion slot and Acer Versatile

Connector, together with USB and serial connectivity. Additionally it has a

scroll wheel, hold switch, multifunction button, image viewer, and removable

rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Also the s60 integrates audio and playback capabilities with audio recorder

which has hardware record button and internal microphone.
