Three years after establishing an office in India and experiencing dismal
sales, Allied Telesyn has injected new blood into the company with the
appointment of Chander Purswani as Country Manager. Now the company has devised
a three-pronged strategy to increase its brand awareness and sales in the
country.
To start with, Allied Telesyn is concentrating on making its products easily
available in the country. The company has four existing distributors – Net
Force in the western region, Cosmos in the north and Leading Edge and JDH in
eastern and southern market respectively.

But the company is planning to re-shuffle this team and add more
distributors. Says Chander, "We will target SIs and VARs to take our
products to market. And we will enthuse them by offering at least 10 percent
margins."
The company has chalked out an authorized partner program, and will offer
marketing support. It is also holding talks with OEMs like PCS and HCL for
integrating its products with their systems.
Allied is also working on its warranty policy to offer over-the-counter
replacement for all its products.
The company has plans to add a national service agent who would have presence
in most Indian cities.
