AMD appoints Tech Pac as distributor

AMD announced the appointment of Hagemeyer India Pvt Ltd as their new

national distributor. Hagemeyer is the parent company of Tech Pacific. Other AMD

distributors in the country are Avnet Max, BBS Electronics and Intraco

Technologies.

Announcing the appointment, Sanjeev Keskar, Country Manager, AMD Far East

(India) said, "The relationship with Hagemeyer will enhance our

distribution network and help AMD reach out across a larger geographical area

more effectively."

Hagemeyer India brings to the table an extensive network of channel partners

and an extended sales and technical support infrastructure across the country.

Hagemeyer will also offer AMD compatible mainboards and other components to its

partners.

Sunny Malhotra, CEO, Soanar Division, Hagemeyer expressed his satisfaction

and looked forward to a mutually rewarding relationship. Officials at AMD

claimed that the channel reaction was extremely encouraging.

AMD officials also felt that a larger number of partners across tiers would

now be open to selling AMD products. Says Gagan Gupta of Computers Infinite, an

AMD reseller, "The strengths of Tech Pacific outscore the collective

strengths of all AMD distributors till now."

"With a strong goodwill and prior experience of distribution of

processors, business of AMD is bound to grow," added another reseller.

Partners also feel that Tech Pacific´s capability to offer local support

through its network will give business for AMD a boost. Local support till now

is not being offered by any distributor or master reseller.
