Benq piggybacks on CD media for retail journey

Benq has decided to launch CD media to get more brand visibility in the

retail market space. The idea is to use CD to create stronger brand recall among

end-users.

Informing about this strategy, Pankaj Pamani, Manager-Marcom, Benq India

says, "In the days to come, retailing would be one of our core focus. This

is the reason we have started with CD media to give us the desired retail

reach." Pankaj informs that the CD media would be made available to the

channel sometime by the end of August.

At

present, the company is identifying dealers who have a strong presence in the

retail segment. To begin with, it will only cover metro markets. Benq CDs will

be priced comparatively lower than other branded CDs like HP, Samsung and

Imation at Rs 20 - 22. "Ours would be a branded, high-quality CD that would

be available at an extremely affordable price-points," adds Pankaj.

In yet another effort to capture better mindshare of end-users, the company

has also launched a promotional offer on its scanner. On the purchase of every

3300U scanner, it is giving away a walkman free to the buyer.
