A fter graduating in computer science engineering from MS Ramaiah College in
1990, Sunil Kumar wanted to start his own business. When an opportunity
presented itself in the form on a partnership offer, he co-founded Cascade
Computers while becoming its managing partner.
It was here that he got the first glimpses of the IT industry and trading
business. But his relationship with Cascade was short-lived and within a span of
nine months Sunil decided to opt out of the partnership.
Two years later in 1993, Sunil re-entered the IT business by launching his
own venture–Lampo Computers.
The business started off as a one-man show with Sunil investing Rs 1 lakh.
The com-pany's growth gained momentum with his father’s financial support and
was appointed as a GID in the year 1995. Since then, Lampo Computers has grown
to be one of leading Intel dealers in Bangalore.

leading dealers in computer components and peripherals including HDDs, RAM,

IBM, Epson, Tandberg, Sony, Samtron, Seagate and Wipro.
Lampo computers was also certified as an Intel Premier Provider, which
positioned it as one of the top three GIDs in Bangalore. "This appointment
has marked our entry into the select band of Intel Premier Providers in
India," says a proud Sunil.
Beyond the withering clouds
Commenting on the current recession in the market, Sunil says that it is
ideal for a channel partner to plan his strategies to get through it, instead of
getting out of it.
According to him, in today's competitive market, manufacturing organizations
have to face the challenge of providing high quality products and faster
services at lower cost. To meet these challenges, organizations must be
flexible, efficient, innovative and be able to make crucial decisions quickly
and effectively. Sunil believes in doing this. With his ambitious outlook and
prompt after-sales service offerings, the horizon will only keep expanding for
this dynamic entrepreneur.
