Current IT infrastructure of the company
Titan's watch and jewelry manufacturing plants are located in Hosur. The manufacturing processes include micro precision operations (manufacturing of components and sub assemblies) hot and cold forging, stamping, injection molding and tool making. The product development cycle is facilitated by state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology that enables seamless integration from aesthetic styling and 3D and solid modeling to engineering design, tool design, tool making and prototype making. In addition, part of its IT infrastructure in Bangalore, are a set of Unix-based servers for ERP as well as Intel based servers for all other processes. Also PCs as well as facilities like VoIP are part of the IT infrastructure.

Proposed IT infrastructure for 2007
Titan is planning on buying more state-of-the-art servers in the coming year in order to enable its smooth functioning. Upgradation of existing servers is also on the anvil.

Current systems suppliers
Titan buys directly from the vendors like IBM, HP, who then depute their solution providers to execute the order.

Qualities they look for in a supplier
Zero downtime is one of the core qualifications that Titan insists on. Therefore, their suppliers must ensure a trouble free performance for all equipments. Another criteria would be that suppliers must extend good service support as and when required.
