Throughout the year, the company continued to present itself as a company
with a complete bouquet of solutions and positioned itself as a value-added
distributor
Neoteric Informatique showed a 42 percent growth in its agency revenue for
the financial year 2005-06, which grew from Rs 290 to Rs 412 crore. Considering
the 21 percent growth achieved in the previous year, the current growth is
commendable for the company, which continued its focus on being a valued-added
distributor.
The company took a bold initiative by launching Xplore - India's first
Digital Experience lounge. This initiative came in the month of Feb 2006, with
an aim of providing customers a place to touch and feel products distributed by
Neoteric. While no sales are being done from this lounge but the presence of
almost all principal vendors in this lounge makes it a one-stop-outlet to
experience a variety of gadgets, which in turn has benefited vendors as a
promotional site.

The company also launched its support and services outfit called F1. This is
a service-providing outfit that caters to not just vendors and principals of
Neoteric, but other brands as well.
Throughout the year, the company continued to present itself as a company
with a complete bouquet of solutions. By doing this, the company positioned
itself as a value-added distributor more than just a box pusher. The strategy
paid off with the company who added HP, Hitachi, Wacom, LaCie and BenQ as
additional principal vendors.
According to the company, it has maintained its tradition of growing at the
industry growth rate for the last many years, and hence it has been in a better
position to focus on value-added products and services and the “customer first
approach”. This focus oriented approach towards the emerging markets and the
retail segment has helped the company very much.
Recognizing the booming and emerging opportunities in the gaming industry,
the company also put in extra efforts to push its gaming initiative that was
introduced last year. To give that extra throttle to this initative, Logitech
appointed Neoteric as the national distributor for its gaming peripherals in
that year. Neoteric started distribution of Logitech steering wheels, game pads,
joysticks and the newly launched MX series of gaming mouse in India.
Neoteric also announced its partnership with Epson to distribute inkjet
printers, all-in-one printers, large format printers, photo printers and other
imaging products across India.
During the year, Neoteric successfully completed its transition to an ERP
system and brought a streamlined process for serving its customers, which
primarily consists of 4,900 active channel partners. The company has about 6,000
registered channel partners.
Apart from the head office in Mumbai, the company now sports 33 branches
within India and six branches abroad. During the year, the company also
increased it total staff strength from 264 to 375. The plan is to increase it to
425 by the end of the current financial year.
