Megabyte introduced its own PC named MyMega PC, while its focus on services and support continued

From a total turnover of about Rs 100 crore in the FY 2005-06, Bangalore-based Megabyte Corporation has managed to add on another Rs 20 crore to touch a total turnover of Rs 119.75 crore in the last fiscal. Having introduced its own assembled brand of PCs named 'MyMega PC', the company focused its efforts on marketing and promotion of this new brand, while also working for other vendor brands.

Clocking a 17 percent growth in the last fiscal, the company also increased its manpower from 40 to 52 people. Service support has been a key feature that helped the company to strengthen its existing customer base as well as add on new ones.

Additionally, Megabyte has also managed to grow its retail unit in Bangalore as well as a branch in Ahmedabad. Already a premier partner for Intel, Megabyte was chosen as the sub-distributor for Seagate products in Karnataka, an authorized Sony dealer, and partner for Samsung, Mercury and HP in the state.

The company increased its focus on service, support, and clocked revenue of Rs 25 lakh from services alone, last year. The key strengths of Megabyte continued to be in its dealership, with 55 percent of its revenues coming out of that business.

Like 2005-06, this year also the focus verticals for the company business continued to be the home, SOHO and education. This year, the retailing business contributed 15 percent of the total revenue for Megabyte. Government and IT segment contributed the rest of the earnings.
