22.Artek Enterprises :Expanding Its Reach

Deploying projects for the railways and government agencies gave Artek's revenue a major fillip

After entering the domain of security, storage and servers in 2007, Artek Enterprises was able to register a decent growth of 14 percent, and its revenues touched Rs 70 crore. Last fiscal, the company took some major steps that not only helped it achieve better revenues but also strengthened its reach further. It opened new branch offices in Jammu and Kashmir recently. North contributed revenue of 91 percent to the company's overall turnover. Now the company wants to extend its reach to the western and southern regions by bagging some large turnkey projects in select verticals. As Artek expanded its service bouquet, new projects started rolling in. Currently, Artek provides services like network and system integration to the Indian Army for their two wings-Northern Command and Central Command.

Artek also undertook projects for Kanpur-based Ordinance Factory. In the education sector, the company deployed HP servers and nodes worth Rs 115.31 lakh for Gorakahpur-based Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College.

It also implemented LAN wiring with passive components valued at Rs 6.89 lakh for the IIT, New Delhi. In addition, Artek deployed D-Link networking devices and Cisco routers in National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow. Incidentally, it was recognized as the 'Best Distributor' by D-Link for its services offered in the areas of structured cabling.
