| 25.LAUREN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES :Time To Gear Up Though the past year did not see this SP clock an impressive turnover, it
is gearing up with large-scale orders and customized solutions to set the score
Lauren Information Technologies did not have a very smooth year and managed
to marginally increase its turnover from Rs 54 crore in 2005-06 to Rs 59 crore
in 2006-07. This slow growth notwithstanding, Lauren Information Technologies
bagged a large order for PDA-based sales force automation applications from
three large pharmaceutical companies. It also lapped up an order on Microsoft
.NET deployment from large corporate customers. Besides this, it will also
carry out the Lotus Notes Implementation at a large corporate bank and at a
manufacturing company.
Among its major achievement was its upgraded status to a Microsoft Gold
certified partner, which is the highest level of partnership awarded by
Microsoft Corporation. Lauren achieved this status because of its implementation
of Microsoft-based infrastructure solutions. It also achieved the IBM advanced
business partner status as a result of large implementations on Lotus Notes. To
top it all, Lauren Technologies is now an independent solutions vendor. Also
noteworthy was the tie-up with LANDesk as an Expert Solution Provider for
systems management and security management around six months back.
Lauren also introduced Translite, transport management software, which would
help the logistic companies for vehicle utilization. Additionally, it released a
new version of RAVE, a sales force automation solution specifically designed for
the pharmaceutical industry. Plans for the next financial year include the
setting up of a 1,000-seater development software center. Also included in its
plans are focusing on infrastructure solutions and services and software
development and products.
Lauren has clients across several verticals including JP Morgan, Centurion
Bank, Prudential, HSCB, HDFC, Deutsche Bank, Ernst and Young. Amongst shipping
and logistics clients, it works with DHL, AFL, Maersk Sealand; while its pharma
clients include Pfizer, Glenmark, Bayer Crop Science, Lupin, Aventis, etc. In
the manufacturing, SMB and retail vertical, the company boasts of clients like
Crompton Greaves, Siemens, L'Oreal, Philips and Pantaloons. And in the
entertainment segment it has fulfilled the business needs of MidDay, Oberoi
Hotels, SET India and UTV.
