4.SES Technologies:On Solid Ground

It has been an eventful year for SES with the opening of several branches, coupled with new partnerships

In 2006-07 SES Technologies achieved a turnover of Rs 662 crore, gaining a 30 percent growth rate from the earlier year's figure of Rs 462 crore. The year also saw SES add 20 new branch offices to its existing network. This move helped it reach out to smaller cities and partners.

There was also an increase in its workforce from 205 to 380. Most of the company's staff is engaged in its sales and marketing division with 200 people, while 117 people are engaged in the HR and administrative activities. This fiscal the company plans to take its total manpower strength to 595, of which 148 new people will be recruited for sales and marketing and 27 will join the existing team of product/project implementation and quality control division.

It was an eventful year for more than one reason for SES, with the announcement of Kurien Chandy as its new CEO. Chandy took over from former CEO PK Krishnaprasad, who resigned last fiscal. Recently, SES Technologies appointed Kamran Gani, as its new MD. SES also won recognition in the form of awards. Among the major ones were those that SES bagged from Microsoft and Intel.

The year 2006-07 also saw SES tying up with new vendors. It bagged the distribution for Asus, HP Personal Systems Group (PSG), HP Care Pack and Gigabyte. Asus Technology appointed SES Technologies as their national distributor for motherboards, networking products, LCD monitors and notebooks in the Indian market.

SES Technologies also bagged the exclusive rights to supply all products sold via ITJ Retails-the digital lifestyle retail chain.
