Western Digital achieved a milestone of holding 25 roadshows in upcountry and developing markets under its Contact Program. Now the company is aiming at holding 25 more roadshows by June 2007. Launched in July 2006 the program aims at building relationships with upcountry channel partners, establishing a direct contact with them and creating an awareness regarding the company products among them.

Under the first phase of its Contact Program, WD covered Ahmedabad, Bhuwaneshwar, Calicut, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Durgapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kanpur, Kochi, Ludhiana, Madurai, Mysore, Nagpur, Nasik, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Rajkot, Surat, Vishakhapatnam and Vijayawada. So through these roadshows WD has been able to make direct contact with about 2,179 dealers, system integrators and assemblers and generated the demand for WD drives in these cities.

Commenting on this achievement, Sharad Srivastava, Director-Sales (South Asia and India), Western Digital, said that Connect Program was launched on the basis of feedback received from the upcountry market. The upcountry channel partners have been demanding for a direct contact with the company as well as updated information regarding products. To fulfill this demand the company launched a series of roadshows nationwide. He added, “I am excited about the headway we are making in India as a company and expect
to continue this dream run and complete 50 roadshows by June 2007.”
