To provide SOHO segment with a combination of data protection and anti-virus solutions, Stellar Information Systems has launched Stellar Black Cat twin protection solution. The company is planning to take the channel route to push the product in the market.

Stellar will be following a twin-tier distribution model. While tier-1 will includes regional distributors, tier-2 would comprise reseller partners appointed by the regional distributors. Stellar is looking to have close to 20 partners in tier-1 and has already appointed regional distributors in Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi and UP. It further plans to appoint regional distributors in Gujarat, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Talking about the USP of the product, Sunil Chandna, CEO, Stellar Information Systems mentioned that Black Cat provides features like lost data recovery, data recovery from formatted drives, data recovery from deleted partition, recovery after software malfunction and also recovers deleted files and folders among others.

Chandna stated that a major portion of the Stellar's revenues comes from the corporate sector. However, the company now believes that the SOHO segment too is prepared for the future disasters. The launch of Black Cat also marks the foray of Stellar into SOHO segment and the company is looking at appointing close to 500 reseller partners for the same. “We expect to sell 1,000 units this year and initially we will observe the market. Since the license can be availed at a reasonable price of Rs 950 and comes with a guarantee of one-year, we are expecting a good response to it,” stated Chandna.
