This setup includes PCs interconnected over LAN, phone and fax machines as well
as switches, routers, printers and modems. Its products integrate VoIP, video
and wireless LAN functionality to enable a variety of converged end equipment
designs. TelExcell's broad portfolios of VoIP hardware products offer
complete vertical solutions that are required by service providers and
corporates.
Proposed
IT infrastructure for 2006
While attempting to
improvise upon its current IT infrastructure, TelExcell is looking to build on
infrastructure that caters to the customer relationship management needs of its
customers in the coming year. An estimated investment of about Rs 1 to 2 lakh
has been set-aside for setting up the required infrastructure.
Current
systems supplier
TelExcell is known
to import a lot of its equipment. Dell supplies most of the PCs, while HP caters
to the company's printer needs. Switches are of TelExcell's own brand.
Systems suppliers for TelExcell also include OA Compserve and Mangal
Electronics, among others.
Qualities
sought in a supplier
Most importantly,
TelExcell looks for suppliers who can provide it with prompt after-sales
support. In addition to good after-sales support, it expects its suppliers to
offer a very competitive price for all products. Other criteria that it looks
for is the quality of the product supplied and also the reputation of the
supplier in the market. It deals with only those suppliers who have a good name
