HP and Redington India announced the opening of its first India Indigo Digital Press Demo Centre in Chennai at an investment cost of approximately Rs 3.5 crore. This centre will be focusing on providing a complete pre-sales experience and a better understanding of the Indigo Digital Press and its benefits for the increasing number of customers in the country.

HP envisages huge growth opportunity in the Asia Pacific region and hence has investing in the demo centre in Chennai, after setting up of the Indigo Ink Plant and the Indigo Training Centre in Singapore. Its patented ElectroInk technology is the core technology behind the Indigo Solution.

With an area of 3000 square feet, the demo centre currently houses two HP Indigo Presses – the Indigo press 1050 and the 3050. There is also an ink mixing station at the centre. The demo centre will be constantly upgraded to suit customer's requirements.

The standards of digital publishing is being elevated to a higher level with this technology as offset-like quality digital prints of higher resolution, sharper images, vibrant and wider range of colors are being produced. There is long–term color durability, uniform finish and a wider range of colors. The technology also incorporates the IndiChrome on-press, which is a six–color-printing process – CMYK and two additional base colors (orange and violet) loaded on the press.

“The establishment of the HP Indigo Digital Press Demo Centre demonstrates HP's strong commitment to its customers in the graphic arts and digital publishing industry in India and will be the fifth such centre for HP, with two in the United States, one in Singapore and one in Europe.” explained Steve Donegal, Business Manager – Asia Pacific for Indigo Digital Press.

The Demo Centre is specifically targeted for users who are new to the HP Indigo family of digital offset printing presses. The Demo centre will enable customers to test there own files, on substrates that they currently use in their offset process, mix pantone spot colors on the unique Ink mixing station to address there client needs of maintaining there brand.

“The center will not only give the user a hands-on touch and feel experience of the products but also enhance the technical knowledge of users, enabling them to make the most out of their HP Indigo Presses,” Steve said.
