Indian IT solutions provider Aftek Infosys has announced that it has bought 100% stake in a German search company Arexera Information Technologies for Euro 8.86 million. Aftek had gained 49% stake in Arexera in 2003 with the option of buying the rest of the stake over a couple of years, which it has now achieved.
MM Warburg acted as investment banker, while independent valuation was done by PKF. Arexera's technology includes Seekport, a search engine that caters to corporate and intranet search. Seekport is available in European languages including German, Spanish, French, and English. The search engine received the 'Innovation Area Award' for the fastest market entry at CeBIT 2005.
