In its silver jubilee year, the systems integration revenue did not bring cheer to Tata Infotech which declined for the second consecutive year. It slipped one place down in the Silver Club to #17, with an agency revenue of Rs 106 crore. Though the company’s overall turnover declined marginally from Rs 483 crore to Rs 462 crore, it recorded a 49% increase in profit after tax. Net profit stood at Rs 30.46 crore as against Rs 20.50 crore last year. 

Last year, Tata Infotech inked a contract manufacturing deal with Diebold, wherein it would manufacture the latter's ATMs for distribution in India and South-East Asia. It also signed an MoU with Tata Teleservices to develop wireless data applications. 

The company won MAIT's Award for Excellence in Exports in 2002-03 and the "Silver Partnership" from Cisco. 

Tata Infotech completed a multi-crore inventory management and an MIS project for the Army, in conjunction with the latter's Computerized Inventory Control Project Team.

Systems design and software services company, Spectrum Software signed an agreement with Tata Infotech to work together as service partners in marketing the latter's SpectrumSCM in India.

For the current year, Tata Infotech is focusing on providing total solutions for the booming telecom industry. This will help integrate products and technologies, like Wi-Fi, mCash, eCoupon and security based cameras.
