Dell launches its rugged laptop range to sustain extreme hazardous conditions

Dell has commercially launched its rugged range. These laptops have gone through individual military tests to help defence and disaster planning personnel work efficiently. Latitude 12 Rugged Extreme is the industry’s first rugged “flip-hinge” convertible display.

For now a 12-inch convertible and 14-inch laptop has been launched for customers across India. These laptops come with some really exciting features like Direct-View outdoor-readable display for productivity in harsh sunlight that reduces glare and reflectivity with less reliance on backlighting (resulting in longer battery life), resistive multi-touch on the Latitude 12 Rugged Extreme for recognizing intuitive gestures while wearing thick gloves and sealed, customizable “RGB” backlit keyboard enables work in all lighting environments and features an “instant stealth” mode to go incognito.

Accompanying are features like docking commonality across the Dell Rugged Extreme portfolio, regardless of form factor for cost savings over time. Up to 16GB of memory and up to 512GB solid state storage. Full HD webcam with a privacy shutter and an 8MP Camera with flash on the Latitude 12 Rugged Extreme. All Rugged Extreme products house a USB 3.0 port and rugged 14’ holds a native serial on with dual serial/RJ-45 as well.

Promising security, customers are able to protect their data with an array of data protection and encryptions including TPM 1.2, Dell Data Protection, Encryption and ControlVault advanced authentication.

These powerful laptops come in different variants whose beginning price point is 2,29,000 for 14-inch rugged device and 2,39,000 for convertible 12-inch device.
