Huawei launches Honor 5X smartphone with fingerprint sensor

Chinese device maker Huawei has officially announced its Honor 5X smartphone with fingerprint sensor. Honor 5X features 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920p) IPS display and has two variants -- one with 2GB RAM and the other with 3GB RAM.

Chinese device maker Huawei has officially announced its Honor 5X smartphone with fingerprint sensor. Honor 5X features 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920p) IPS display and has two variants -- one with 2GB RAM and the other with 3GB RAM.

The dual-sim smartphone has hybrid sim slots, which supports both micro-sim and nano-sim cards. Powered by 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC, (four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7GHz + four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.2GHz) and Adreno 405 GPU. The metal-clad phone has 16GB of internal storage and can hold microSD card of up to 128GB.

It packs a 3000mAh removable battery and sports a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front facing camera.

Huawei Honor 5X smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop skinned with EMUI 3.1 and in addition to 4G can support Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, microUSB, and USB OTG, and Wi-Fi connectivity options.

Honor 5X is available in Huawei's home country China and so far there is no word on the smartphone's availability in other markets.
