Delhi-based Intex Technologies has launched its ThumbDrive targeted at mobile
users. Despite its miniature size and lightweight, once Intex ThumbDrive is
plugged in, it acts like any other mass storage device, informed company
sources. The device is the size of a thumb and slots into a computer’s USB
port with ease and is recognized instantly as a removable drive where data can
be read, edited or added. Unlike a CD or DVD, it is protected from physical
corruption when scraped or dropped, because the memory is encased in a plastic
cover.
ThumbDrive
is made to withstand vibration as well as extremes of humidity, magnetic fields
and temperatures. Data can be stored in the Thumb-Drive for approximately 10
years. It operates on Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and
Windows XP.
