Macromedia focuses on Web leads

Macromedia has implemented a new ‘Lead Management’ program for its

preferred resellers. All leads generated through its web site for trial-copy

downloads are being given to partners, who then do the follow-up.

"Lots of people attend our seminars and hence we witness large number of

30-day trial downloads happening soon after. We qualify these downloads and pass

them to our preferred resellers," says Shriram Krishnamachari, Country

Manager, Macromedia India.

Macromedia currently operates in India through three distributors–Tech

Pacific, Sonata and Wipro Infotech. It also has 26 tier-two preferred resellers

operating in 10 cities and is planning to expand the number of preferred

resellers to 15 by the end of JAS quarter.

These resellers will become a part of Macromedia preferred reseller partner

club (MPRPC), and will enjoy benefits like listing on Macromedia web site,

access to partner Extranet, training, collaterals and lead management.

Macromedia is also increasing its focus on the education sector with the

launch of Macromedia MX by announcing its plans to appoint 15 Macromedia

education resellers.

"There is a huge opportunity for us in this segment and these resellers

will target commercial training institutes, schools, colleges and

universities," says Shriram.
