32. OA Compserve: Business within a small radius

Founded in 1990, Delhi-based OA Compserve handles distribution and sales of PCs, peripherals, computers, consumables, servicing and implementation of LAN/WAN, apart from Cisco certification and Sun Solaris training.

In fiscal 2000-01, the company grew 16.5 percent, closing its books at Rs 64 crore, compared to the previous figure of Rs 55

crore.

OA Compserve addresses over 200 corporates, PSUs and SMEs. The distribution division has 700 resellers in the northern region.

"Success through service is the moto of our company. We are authorized dealers and service provider for Wipro, Epson and HP with all its ranges of printers and computers," says RK

Malhotra.

The company also has a Web presence, which enables its resellers and customers to register online. The company boasts about providing prompt service for a wide range of computers and printers under the banner of 'AA', which means Anytime Anywhere in NCR.

Keeping pace with ever changing technology, the group today has widely diversified its operations, covering the entire gamut of IT activities, each of them highly focused and operating either as a separate company or as a separate profit center.

The other group companies under its fold are: 1) Silicon Comnet -- its solutions and training division, 2) Green IT Mart -- for implementation of LAN and infrastructure cabling, and 3) Renovision Comnet Pvt Ltd -- focusing on IT consumables.
