To cater to the needs of its customers in the wireless area,
Omnitech InfoSolutions has tied up with Chennai-based Lister Technologies.
Omnitech has begun developing solutions in wireless connectivity in the Western
Region in collaboration with Lister.
Says Atul Hemani, Director, Omnitech, "At this juncture,
one needs three licenses to develop wireless solutions. We are hopeful that soon
government will get rid of the license raj in the wireless sector."
In the meanwhile, Omnitech has finished the beta testing of
its CRM tool, OmniBuzinessIT and would begin promoting the same from June this
year. The company has the objective of developing a full-fledged Web-based CRM
package that will tackle marketing, logistics and after-sales support.
While the year 2001-02 was good for Omnitech in the services
front, where it grew by 40 percent, overall the sales remained flat and the
bottom line "was nothing much to talk about."
Says Atul, "We intend to focus on connectivity, security
and storage during 2002-03. These segments are expected to grow faster than
others."
Omnitech has divided its business into three divisions:
e-infrastructure solutions; software solutions; and services. The
e-infrastructure division offers solutions to enterprises on connectivity,
storage and server-based computing.
The software division offers solutions for e-business, CRM,
automation and mobile commerce. The services division offers facilities
management, e-management services and professional services. Omnitech expects
services to contribute in a big manner to its bottom line during the current
fiscal.
