Quantum Corporation, a leading provider of data protection and network

storage systems, has announced its plans to launch its Indian operations by the

end of next year. Currently, Quantum has been marketing its range of snap

servers through the company’s authorized distributors in the country.

Informing about this, Louis Lye, Business Development Manager-Network

Attached Storage Division, Quantum Corporation said, "The market potential

in India is really huge for Quantum and it holds a share of 1.7 percent of the

total revenue coming from Asia." According to him, currently India is not

be among the top few country-markets in terms of revenue in Asia. However,

Quantum plans to explore further the market potential in the country.

Meanwhile, Quantum has also announced its plans to launch server-to-server

(S2S) synchronization software for near-line backup. According to the company,

the usage of Quantum’s Snap server in conjunction with S2S synchronization

software provides an alternative solution for near-line backup that will allow

users to retrieve data quickly in the event of a server failure.
