Arsharth in Hindi, means ‘meeting all challenges’. For Bangalore-based
KGP Pillai, this translated into meeting every business challenge by delivering
solutions and services faster and effectively to end-users. Pillai’s approach
has always been to focus on the unique requirements of the fast-growing
companies and present them with a comprehensive solution for running their LAN
networks.
Challenging the limits
An electronics and communications engineer from Chennai, Pillai started his
career in 1991 with Team Computers, a Delhi-based distributor. Over the next 10
years, his career shifted on the fast track as he grew from a junior sales
officer to senior officer and subsequently was transferred to Bangalore to head
the company’s branch office in 1997.

The transfer was a turning point in Pillai’s life as it gave him a free
hand in building up the customer base for Team Computers. "I always wanted
to learn and ensure that only the best solutions are passed on to
customers," says Pillai.
The attraction of the garden city was so strong that when he was recalled to
Delhi in 2001, Pillai decided to stay back and explore the potential of
Bangalore further. The same year, with an investment of Rs 2 lakh, Pillai
started Arsharth Infosystems from his residence.
His mantra for growth
When it came to picking up revenue streams for Arsharth Infosystems, Pillai
had very clear ideas. He noticed that though the market was saturated with
channel partners, the opportunities for service companies were still ripe.
"We only focused on areas like annual maintenance contracts (AMCs),
multi-vendor/multi-platform support, LAN and WAN connectivity, facility
management, help-desk services, network design and implementation, updates and
buy-backs," says Pillai.
His commitment to provide better service by reducing the down-time to minimum
and increasing the customer satisfaction to the maximum helped Arsharth record a
sales revenue of Rs 20 lakh during the OND quarter.
"Our focus is on fulfilling client needs and not to push a particular
product or brand," says Pillai. During the present quarter Pillai hopes to
achieve a sales turnover of Rs 30 lakh.
Diversified offerings
Today, Arsharth Infosystems undertakes projects to integrate systems, study,
design, implement and subsequently support the networks. "We also offer
network consultancy which includes network designing, systems configuration,
technical suggestions on network expansion, network installation, low-cost WAN
solutions, cabling layouts, structured cabling etc," adds Pillai.
The company also specializes in setting up intra-office networking and mail
services. "We act as a general contractor in setting up communication
systems," says Pillai with a smile. Currently, Arsharth provides complete
AMC support on all major hardware platforms. "We have been able to achieve
a maximum response time of four hours and a down-time of just two hours,"
says Pillai proudly.
Arsharth Infotech has gained recognition in the Bangalore market due to its
experience in several networking fields. Its panel of qualified and trained
engineers has helped the company to score greater mind recall among its
customers. The success of the company can be described by a slight change in the
age-old adage, "Where there is a will, there is always a way to
success"
