Anvita Mehra, Founder & CEO, Confidential Couture

Proud founder of an online portal ‘Confidential Couture’ Anvita Mehra has passion for fine things, which led to the idea of her business. Born and brought up in a business family, she has always been interested in strategies and figures. She founded Confidential Couture at the age of 24. Her portal is India’s first online portal for buying and selling pre-owned (second-hand) luxury products. Prior to Confidential Couture, Anvita was handling a small division of her family business in fine jewellery.

Tell us about your Educational Background.

I did my schooling from British school and Modern school, Delhi. I graduated in 2011 from University of Nottingham, England in Business Management. I have done various short courses in Dubai, UAE.

Tell us about your Family Background.

I belong to a business family. My dad is into real estate and construction. So, I learnt about business skills from the environment I was born and brought up in and from my business world, which is my alma mater.

You are one of the women executive in a top role. Do you feel there are challenges in this field as a woman.

There is no challenge; it’s all about how confidently you go ahead. For me men and women are on same scale so I have never considered it as challenge. As a start up one goes through a lot of challenges and obstacles but none of it in my opinion is because of one’s gender.

IT is a field being dominated by men; how do you cope up?

Yes, IT is dominated by men, but I do not take it as a challenge. Today, we live in an era of gender equality. The challenges that one faces have nothing to do with one’s gender.  Have faith and dedication in your hard work, be confident and go ahead.

Do you feel there is existence of Glass Ceiling?

No, it doesn’t exist. There is no barrier no limit and the sky is the limit.

What is your favorite pastime?

I am a pianist so that's my favorite pastime. I also enjoy swimming.

What are your Future plans?

Expansion and growth and more automation.

Your Fitness Mantra: I workout and maintain a strict diet, it happens mainly on week days but on weekends no diet no restrictions.

Your De-stressing Mantra: I love to play with my pets (dog), Enzo and Zepplin.

@WORK DAY

Wake up at: 8.30 – 9 am

Morning activities: workout and answering emails and calls. Then I leave for office at around 10am.

Leaving Office at:  7.30 – 8 pm

Ist half in office: planning

Post Lunch: How you spend your evenings: when I leave from office I prefer spending quality time with my friends.

Sleep time:  I generally don’t sleep too early; I read books or follow fashion trends or news. Then I go off to sleep at around 12.30- 1 am.
