16 laptops stolen from Nehru Place-based RJ Computers

New Delhi : Theft incidents are on rise in IT market. Just a week back, a theft incident took place at Ghaziabad based Aakriti Computers where a group of burglars fled away with 10 laptops worth Rs 5 lakh. Now, another incident took place on October 25 where 16 laptops worth Rs 5.5 lakh has been stolen from Nehru place based RJ Computers.



Ratan Lal Jain, Business partner of RJ Computers, first noticed the incident when he came to open the shop next morning and found the locks tampered.
"When I came to office on Sunday, I found that the locks of shutters were tampered and inside the shop, boxes were open and laptops were missing. The accused have taken only the laptops and its accessories and nothing else has been touched. This indicates that they might be involved in fraud business of
laptops," said Jain.



He further registered a FIR in the police station. Police is interrogating with the employees of the company. About being suspicious of anybody, Jain clarified that it is difficult to specify anybody, as the incident does not give a clear picture of who could be involved.
"It cannot be our employees because they have been with us for the last 10-12 years and no other costlier items has been touched. It seems that the involved gang deal only with the
laptops," he said. Swarn Singh, Joint Secretary, All Delhi Computers Traders Association (ADCTA) informed that the association is giving all possible support to RJ Computers.
"We are circulating the serial number of the stolen laptops to the associations in Delhi and also across the country so that if anybody comes across the item, he can inform
us," shared Singh.



Neeraj Jain, business partner of RJ Computers informed that after the incident the security system in the company has been geared up but still shop owners as well as the government has to be more proactive in addressing the increasing theft issue in the market.
