3rd Corona Wave Imminent by Sept-Oct - What Should Govt and You Do? Some advices for the people in general, for traders and for the govt

Niti Aayog has said that 3rd Corona wave is inevitable in India and people should be prepared for it. Vaccination, social distancing, wearing face masks and sanitisation etc are the best precautions against Corona. Third wave is said to affect younger population below 18 more, but those above 18 are not immune to it.

Hence, all people should do the following to counter the 3rd Corona wave -

  • Wear N 95 masks - those who live in family should wear masks also at home
  • Properly dispose off the masks or burn them
  • Maintain social distancing - also at home
  • Frequently sanitise hands with sanitiser that contains minimum 60% ethyl alcohol
  • Alternatively, wash your hands and face with soap for minimum 20 seconds - wash frequently
  • Stay indoors as much as possible
  • Don't go to crowded places
  • If you need to go out, try to go early in the morning when there are not many people on the road
  • Buy online in large amounts - avoid going to shops as much as possible
  • Buy a vapouriser and inhale steam daily for 5-7 minutes - use drinking water for inhaling steam
  • Keep an oxymeter at home and check your oxygen level regularly
  • In case of fever or other symptoms that persist, contact the doctor
  • Keep contacts of home arrangement for treatment ready
  • Get both doses of vaccine as soon as possible
  • Get your children also vaccinated as soon as children's vaccine is available
  • Eat regular and nutritious food to stay healthy so that your immunity system gets built up

Here is what the IT MSMEs should do to counter the 3rd Corona wave -

  • Follow all the above advices
  • Build an online platform for your business, join E-commerce platforms and also join the various E-store platforms at the earliest possible
  • Make arrangements to drive large volume of traffic towards your profile
  • Sell your products, solutions, services online
  • Ask the government to allow you to deliver your products and services when a customer calls you
  • Smaller IT MSMEs should ask the govt for assistance in building online profiles and in traffic management strategy development

Here's what the government should do to counter the 3rd Corona wave -

  • Procure enough vaccine doses for the entire population of India before September
  • Make arrangements to vaccinate all people before September
  • Make arrangements for enough medical infrastructure all over India - oxygen, ventilator, transportation, medicines, sufficient medical staff, PPE kits and everything else
  • Tell the traders to move online by the end of July
  • Create a cell for the assistance of traders, especially IT MSMEs so that they can move their products, solutions and services online and help them in traffic management strategy
  • Give relaxation in tax and in other financial liabilities
  • Increase the manufacture of E-vehicles and make them available at low cost for all to avoid buying petrol
  • Tell the people to drive in E-rickshaws as much as possible to avoid reliance on petrol
  • Build an all-India campaign to encourage the people to vaccinate themselves and to follow all precautions as advised above

After suffering through two waves of Corona for more than a year, facing extreme hardships of all kinds, now it's high time for the people, especially traders, IT MSMEs and the government to be prepared in advance for the 3rd wave. Only by following the above roadmap can India beat Corona.
