Abee, manufacturers of printer ribbons, inkjet cartridges and
refills, CDs and storage boxes, is planning to expand their present range of
products to include mice, keyboards and CD writers. The products should be
available in the market by the end of the OND quarter.
B B Somani, MD, believes that the price of CD writers is
currently very high in the market, which has not permitted extensive usage of
the product. "Today every computer has a CD-ROM, but because of the high
prices of CD Writers, users shy away from the technology.
All the products will be imported from Taiwan and will be
sold in the Indian market. It will also be made available in the Singapore where
Abee has an office with a marketing team. Somani says that he does not plan to
sell the products in other countries yet, but will do that eventually.
"There are many big names in the market," he says. "But we have
an edge over them as our products are less expensive than theirs, while
providing the best technology. This is because we believe in giving our
customers the best at a reasonable price."
