Acer India creates new volume products division

As part of its strategy to capture marketshare in the growing SMB and SOHO segments, Acer India has established a new business division called the
volume product division (VPD). The company has also launched two new desktop offerings, the Acer Power S200 and Acer Power S100 to cater completely to
the unique requirements of customers in this segment. 

The products, the Acer Power S200 and Acer Power S100 sport multimedia ready features such as a multimedia keyboard and an optical mouse at end-user
prices of Rs 18,999 and Rs 20,999 respectively. Speakers with sub-woofer, internal
modem and an upgrade to 17-inch monitor will cost additional Rs1,750.

Acer Power S200 is an AMD Athlon XP 2600 based desktop equipped with 128 MB RAM, 40 GB hard disk, 1.44 FDD
and a CD ROM. The operating system is Linux and it has a 15-inch CRT MPR II certified monitor, USB Internet and comes
with one-year standard warranty. The Acer Power S100 features an Intel Pentium 4 processor, 2.4 GHz, 128 MB RAM and 40 GB hard disk. It also has1.44 FDD, CD ROM, 15-inch CRT MPR II certified monitor and Linux operating
system with one-year standard warranty.
