Acer India enters projector market

Acer has announced the launch of LCD and DLP projectors in its Consumer Product Group (CPG) portfolio. 

The LCD projector which is 1,300 lumens with speakers costs Rs 99,999. Pricing for DLP projectors is Rs 1.2 lakh, Rs 1.29 lakh, Rs 2.34 lakh, Rs 2.49 lakh and Rs 2.99 lakh for PD110z, PD 112, PD321, PD520 and PD721 models respectively. All models are backed by a two-year warranty. 

Sold entirely through the channel, Acer plans to identify and select dealers across the country, with approximately four partners per city. Channel training programs, related to product and sales, will be conducted in addition to demonstration programs. This will help them explain to customers the benefits and utilities of the projector.

Currently, it has service centers across 19 locations and Acer service partners in 56 cities to handle post-sales service. The company will target specific sectors such as government, corporate, banking and finance, SMEs and educational institutes for its projectors. 

Acer India's CPG GM, S Rajendran says, "Acer has entered the market late but we will leverage the technology, pricing and our service network to gain definite marketshare for our projectors."
