ACI Infocom to provide hardware solutions to SIs

Mumbai-based distribu tor ACI Infocom has decided to provide
hardware solutions to systems integrators. So far the company has been
distributing Seagate, Microsoft and Toshiba range of products. Talking about
this decision, Preetam Kalaskar, GM-Business Development, ACI Infocom, says,
"We intend to offer a complete range of hardware solutions from
motherboards to mice to systems integrators. This move will only further our
existing relationship with the SIs."

The company however has chosen not to deal in memory modules
as it feels that memory business is very volatile. "The way prices of
memory modules fluctuate frequently, it is best for us to keep away from it.
Except that, we shall provide every other component that goes into the making of
a computer system," adds Preetam.

ACI has already started negotiations with various OEMs for
supply of different components. It has struck deals to market Panther brand of
cabinets and Touchmake brand of keyboards and mice. "Very soon we will
finalize an OEM for supplying motherboards as well," says Preetam.

He believes that by offering a complete range of solution
like this, ACI will be able to make better inroads into B and C-class cities.
