Alphaa AI is an AI-ML enabled tool that helps enterprises with data analytics which they can use for various purposes. Preksha Kaparwan, Co-Founder & CMO, Alphaa AI and a winner of a place at  NSRCEL’s Women Startup Programme at IIM Bangalore, talks about her journey and work in this interaction.

NSRCEL’s Women Startup Programme at IIM Bangalore is a CSR initiative by Kotak Mahindra and aims to support ambitious and innovative women entrepreneurs by enabling them to transform their idea into business ventures. First conceptualised in 2016, the Programme is designed to focus on the enhancement of the entrepreneurial and managerial skills of women leading early and ideation stage ventures.

What motivated you to come into the field of technology?

Many things have come to fruition in smart technology in the past decade. We are forming our basic habits around the kind of technology we have access to and planning our work similarly. Being a hospitality graduate it was exciting to see technology as a user but it was not till I started working with a data science startup that I wanted to code. Then a client needed a website and our developer was unwell and I took matters in my own hand. It opened up so many possibilities and I kept wondering what else can be built.

What challenges do you face in your job roles? How do you resolve these challenges?

I am a co-founder of a tech startup so obviously hiring is a big challenge. But coming to functional challenges, training to expect results you would produce is a big hustle for ever entrepreneur. Building a team that stands beside you and cultivating a leadership style that helps everyone align their path with our vision is what I have learned in past so many years.

Now I work mostly on marketing the product and company brand, and that puts your creativity and wit to test. Imagine how will you convince a user that this technology that you know nothing of is going to change your experience, your career, you performance? We do that and are learning to build trust out of nothing to back.

What has been the % of revenue growth of your organisation in 2021? How much % was it higher or lower than in 2020?

In terms of revenue we have grown 300% since 2020. And since it was the inception year, we are hoping to close at 10 times the revenue we made in 2021 in 2022.

What % of revenue growth came from Smart Tech domains - IoT, AI-ML, Deep Learning etc? Which particular Smart Tech domain?

actually 100%. We are a Deep Tech AI assisted data platform. And our revenue comes from licensing the technology to enterprise customers

Have you helped any MSMEs in the IT sector to grow in business? How many in the metro cities and how many in the non-metros?

At this moment we are working with large enterprises.
