Almasa and Maxtor conduct roadshows

Almasa kicked off its first roadshow in the Indian sub-continent in Delhi showcasing Maxtor products. The IT distribution company has Maxtor on board
as its first customer in the Asia Pacific market. Poised to enter Vietnam and Malaysia in phase I and China in phase II of its operations this year,
Dubai-headquartered Almasa is expecting a lot from India. "India is a strategic market for us, an entry point which will establish Almasa in the
Asia Pacific," says Sridharan, Sales Director of Almasa IT Distribution Asia Pte Ltd.

The Singapore office of the company, handling the Asia Pacific operations, currently has 18 clients in Europe including giants
like Hitachi and Asus. Almasa plans to distribute the products of most of these vendors in India
and the APAC region as well. "We are looking at providing our partners in India, the whole product basket within the coming year and are in talks with
various other vendors for the same," explains Sridharan. 

Almasa started its India operations in April this year and plans to go in for a dynamic channel distribution model in India,
appointing channel partners in the four metros and a few major cities. " "We plan to appoint at
least three to four channel partners in each of the metros and a select few in at least seven other major cities in India," informs Sandeep
Ramani, Country  Manager, India, Almasa Computers Pvt Ltd.

"We see this association with Maxtor as an opportunity to increase the vendor's marketshare in India and for this we are
garnering channel support as well as building up a sales force internally to strengthen the brand. A
six member sales team for Delhi office is definitely on the cards, within the next few months, besides that we are looking to open liaison offices in
at least seven other cities in India," informs Sandeep.

After Delhi, the distributor is taking the roadshow to Bangalore and Mumbai.
