Altec Lansing introduces GT5051R 5.1 powered audio system  

Altec Lansing has launched the GT5051R 5.1 Powered Audio System - a 5.1
surround sound package in a 3.1 configuration. It reduces clutter, wires and
space challenges by eliminating the need for standalone rear speakers. Each
GT5051R system consists of three satellite speakers and one subwoofer. Surround
sound is achieved by equipping the top speaker in each stack with patent-pending
Side-Firing Dipole Surround technology that disseminates sound from both front
and back (hence dipole). The unit comes with an ultra flat infrared remote to
adjust general volume, speaker by speaker and a stand by mode.

The
speakers also feature six-channel sound even from two- or four-channel sources,
three-device connectivity, flexible center speaker placement and grills-on or
grills-off style options. Each system includes separate controls for power,
master volume, and center, surround and subwoofer volume; ships with a headphone
jack for private listening; and includes color-coded cables for easy
installation. It is priced at Rs 9,400.
