AMC for a PC @Rs 785

Now PC users can buy annual servicing and maintenance contract (AMC) for
their PC at Rs 785. Delhi-based Comnet Vision India Pvt Ltd is piloting
Tune-up, an off-the-shelf service contract targeted at SMEs and home users,
in Hyderabad. According to Comnet's Hyderabad branch manager Sumit Sharma,
"A productized service, this is an effort to bridge the supply gap of
professional PC maintenance services".

Announcing the pilot phase of the product, Sharma elaborated that Tune-up
will be sold directly to the customers until July when it is scheduled to be
available off-the-shelf at select stores. A Tune-up box contains an annual
maintenance contract, coupons for general and preventive services and a user
manual with tips on how to take care of the PC.

"The user manual also contains a list of 1,405 common computer hangups that
can be used to properly identify the problem," said Sharma. Customers can
call or email the service center and quote the hang-up number for
troubleshooting. If the problem cannot be fixed, a service engineer will
come onsite to resolve the issue within 24 hours. Twelve such onsite calls
and four preventive maintenance calls are part of the package. Then there
are coupons for repair charges and discounts for upgradation and add-ons.
According to Sharma, 40 service engineers and 70 marketing professionals
will be handling operations in Hyderabad. He expects 500 customers a month,
which will be scaled up to 1,500-2,000 a month as the product picks up in
the market. "After stabilizing in Hyderabad we will take the model to other
cities," he added.
