AMD appoints Digital China to distribute "Processor in a Box"

AMD has authorized Digital China to distribute AMD 'Processor in a Box' (PIB) products in China. Digital China will be responsible for the sales, marketing, and promotion of AMD PIB products to the 'do-it-yourself' (DIY) market in China, in addition to providing after-sale support services.

An AMD PIB package includes a high-performance AMD processor, an AMD recommended heatsink and cooling fan, Certificate of Authenticity, complete installation instructions, and a 3-year limited warranty. AMD Athlon 64, AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon XP processors are all available in the PIB package format.

Digital China is China's biggest IT supply chain service provider. As an authorized distributor of AMD PIB products, Digital China will promote the sales of these products through its channels and offer comprehensive after-sale supporting services. As to distribution channels, Digital China intends to fully integrate its sales channels throughout China to facilitate the availability of AMD's processors throughout China. On product promotion front, Digital China will focus on enhancing AMD's brand image among end-users by setting up Digital China-AMD Pro-Shops selling mainly AMD processors. Plans are under way to set up 500 Pro-Shops throughout China.

AMD PIB products distributed by Digital China will also carry on their packs of Digital China's Anti-Counterfeit label approved by the Quality Assurance Association of China.
