ASUS intros Intel's 875P chipset-based dual-processor motherboard

ASUSTeK Computer (ASUS) began shipments for the PC-DL Deluxe high-performance motherboard based on a dual-Intel Xeon processor
architecture.

The PC-DL Deluxe is the world's first Intel 875P chipset-based motherboard to adopt a dual-processor design. Supporting Intel's Hyper-Threading
technology, it further provides extreme computing power comparable to that of four-processor solutions. In the past, DV capturing, video conversion
processing and CAD/CAM applications normally took all night. With the PC-DL Deluxe, these complex tasks can now be completed in 1 to 2 hours.

According to the data provided by ASUS testing lab, the PC-DL Deluxe is affordable and powerful than any competing products on the market. Adopting
the dual-Xeon architecture on 533MHz FSB and dual-channel DDR 333 support,

it offers superior memory performance compared with that of existing DDR 266 solutions. Combined with maximum support up to 4GB ECC or Non ECC unbuffered
DIMM, the PC-DL Deluxe is tailor made for the most memory-intensive

applications. Also worth mentioning is by leveraging Xeon processing technology, it doubles the processing power offered by current 875P, Pentium
4 motherboards.

Foreseeing the rising demand for Serial ATA I/O technology and data integrity, the PC-DL Deluxe incorporated the Promise RAID controller onboard
to offer data protection with RAID levels 1, 0, 0+1 functions across Serial

ATA and IDE channels. The ICH5R South Bridge integrated 2 Serial ATA ports as well for RAID levels 0 and 1 functions.

For scalability, the PC-DL Deluxe supports four Serial ATA ports, three IDE channels, six USB 2.0 ports and two IEEE 1394 ports. To deliver outstanding
graphics performance, it is compatible to all major AGP 8x graphics cards

for workstations on the market. Based on a standard 12-inch x 9.6-inch ATX form factor, the motherboard provides excellent chassis flexibility, which
means it is an ideal platform for both workstations and high-end desktop

PCs.
