Asus makes its motherboards Prescott-ready

Asus has launched a complete product line supporting the newly-released Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.2 GHz+ (Prescott core). All current and future Asus motherboards supporting 800 MHz FSB will be compatible with the latest processor. 

The Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.2G Hz+ brings new features to the mainstream desktop segment including 1 MB on-die L2 cache (current solutions remain at 512 KB), 16 KB L1 data cache, Hyper-Threading Technology and 13 new instructions taking advantage of the industry-leading 90 nm process technology. The processor is expected to increases business productivity and enhance high-end gaming. 

Since the Prescott Pentium 4 Processor 3.2GHz+ is more powerful compared with previous Pentium 4 cores, Asus motherboards incorporated advanced power design to offer dependable solutions for the CPU. Current owners of Asus 800 MHz FSB motherboards can download the latest BIOS from www.asus.com to upgrade to the Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz+.
