Bangalore IT.COM to start on Oct 28

Bangalore IT.COM 2002 was launched by SM Krishna, Chief Minister, Karnataka

before a jam-packed audience at the Taj Westend in Bangalore. The chief guest on

the occasion was Kip Thomson, VP and GM, Dell International Services Worldwide.

Bangalore IT.COM, the largest IT event of Asia, will be held in the city from

October 28 to November 1, 2002 and is expected to scale new heights as far as

the number of participants is concerned.

The program kicked off with the presentation of bouquets to honor few

citizens responsible for playing an instrumental role in transforming Bangalore

into an IT capital of the country as well as the most reputed and sought after

IT destination of the world. The people honored during the launch included

Pradeep Gupta, MD of Cyber Media India Ltd; Bobby Mitra, Head of Texas

Instruments; Bhagat, head of Airports Authority of India, Bangalore; Ramani,

Commissioner of Income Tax, Bangalore and B Prabhu who was sponsored by

Bangalore IT.COM to represent India at Nottingham England for the wheel chair

tournament among others.
