BEA Systems has announced a strategic agreement with HP that expands the companies' integration efforts. It is designed to provide customers with a robust and adaptive enterprise management solution. The agreement is designed to provide tighter integration across the broad HP OpenView software portfolio with the BEA WebLogic Platform and expands the companies' joint go-to-market programs.
HP will support the BEA platform through the integration of the OpenView software portfolio across the WebLogic product stack and by validating results through the BEA Validation Program. With stronger integration of the business application infrastructure with IT operations and management, enterprise customers can have an IT lifecycle solution that is designed to address development to production to application management. Customers can build out their IT service-oriented architecture (SOA) on their own timetable, so that their products are designed to work together in a well integrated manner, thus helping to save time and money.
BEA and HP offerings will be available across heterogeneous hardware and software environments. They will help give enterprise customers the flexibility to deploy solutions on their existing systems and thus avoid being locked in to one vendor platform.
"BEA and HP share the same vision for enterprise IT environments to be more adaptive to business needs," said BEA Systems India Country Manager, Shailender Kumar. "The work we are doing with OpenView and WebLogic can help make this a reality by linking the application infrastructure with IT management. This helps to enable enterprise customers manage business services in real time, which can improve application quality and performance. It can help provide more immediate insight and tighter control over their technology infrastructure," he added.
HP India Sales Software Country Sales Manager, Amit Chatterjee said, "We are extending application management in OpenView to go beyond just looking at those applications in production -- to also looking throughout the application lifecycle. Our expanded integration efforts will advance and accelerate the work HP and BEA have been doing over the past six years and help our joint customers create new business services while helping drive down the cost and complexity of managing their application infrastructure environment."
