When and how did you move to Cloud Business?

Before entering into the cloud business Shivaami was an internet marketing company where we provided services like SEO, pay per click, social media marketing, and email marketing.

In 2008 Google entered the Indian market with Google Apps for Work (Now G Suite) and not many were aware of it. We explored Google apps for work and its features like Gmail, Google Talk, Google Calendar, and the Google Page Creator (now Google Sites) and saw the many benefits on how it can help an organization save time and money and improve collaboration within the organization. We then came to know that cloud computing is going to be the future of all the businesses and in 2008 Shivaami became a cloud solution company from an internet marketing company.

What sort of changes have you done to move to the cloud within the organisation in terms of Team, skill set, infrastructure, and others?

Shivaami as an Internet marketing Company started in a small office with 10 employees, after switching our medium of business we had to upgrade our knowledge on the cloud, our employees were then trained on Google apps, and also a technical team had to be created in order to deploy and support our customer, as the time passed our team and the technical knowledge grew. We are now a team of 200 employees with a mission to bring the legacy operating organization on the digital platform and hence supporting the Digital India movement. Currently, we have 350+ Professional certification from Google Cloud.

Talking about the old customer we have clients who started with 1 user G Suite account and with time and growth they are now a 10,000 user company, they have been using cloud computing to the maximum extent which has resulted in saving them time and money and increasing their business. We have seen that customers benefit from the adoption of Cloud Technologies via cost reduction, upgraded infrastructure, and availability of data on any device anywhere.

What are the different challenges you face in this journey?

Initially, it was very difficult to convince customers to put their data on the cloud as they were comfortable in keeping their data inhouse. Some of them were open to moving to the cloud and some were open to moving some data to the cloud. This pandemic has changed all that. Cloud is king now and we were born in the cloud.
