BenQ unveils DVD writers with LightScribe technology

BenQ has launched the BenQ DW1625 DVD ReWriter with LightScribe Direct Disc

Labeling Technology. The product enables consumers and businesses to



create customized, silkscreenquality labels directly on CDs and DVDs using their
own PCs through a combination of LightScribe-compatible media.

It has recordable optical drives and enabling software, e2.4x DVD+R Double

Layer writing, 16x DVD+R writing, 4x DVD+RW writing, 8x DVD-R writing, 4x DVD-RW

writing, 16x DVD reading, 40x CD-R writing, 24x CD-RW writing and 40x CD

reading.

Consumers

can burn the data side on a disc as normal, then flip the disc over and burn a

precise, iridescent label with their desired text and graphics using the same

laser that burns the data - no printer, permanent marker or adhesive labeling is

required. HP developed the LightScribe patented technology. The end-user price

of DW1625 DVD ReWriter is Rs 7,500.
