Mumbai-based
Allied Digital Services has bagged the runner-up award for 'Best Service'
because of its wide network of service centers. Starting as a systems
integrator, specializing largely in IBM, it has progressively added more brands
into its portfolio. And it has also upscaled itself into a total solutions
provider. It is the authorized service provider for Unisys/Dell in the country.
Allied believes in investing in training its service and technical staff. Out
of over 1,000 support staff in the company, 80% is certified in specific
technology areas. This is to give them core skillsets and make them specialists,
rather than give them miniscule capabilities in select technologies. Among the
support staff, Allied has 155 people trained on Cisco, 200 on Microsoft, 264 on
Dell 25 on Solaris, eight on Oracle, 16 on HP as well some other people in EMC,
Veritas, Intel, IBM and CheckPoint. Allied has repair centers at nine locations
and direct support in 54 cities.
