Billionton’s USB GPRS wireless modem

Billionton has introduced a USB GPRS wireless modem that provides data and
voice in a USM adaptor. The modem allows users to use e-mail, access Internet
and even make phone calls directly from the notebook without using a telephone
line. The key features of this modem include dual-band EGSM900 and GSM1800, GPRS
multi-slot class 8 and GPRS multi-slot class B. The GPRS modem is also GSMphase
2/2+ compliant. The GPRS module consists of a SIM application toolkit and a
dual-band antenna. This modem is capable of high-speed data transfer of up to
85.6 kbps (downlink) and supports voice, fax and SMS. It comes at an estimated
street price of Rs 19,000.
