Borland Software Corporation has tied up with IBM to ship trial versions of Borland C#Builder, an independent enterprise development environment for .NET Framework-based development, with IBM's DB2 Universal Database software. Borland will also ship IBM's DB2 Universal Developer Edition with its C#Builder for the Microsoft .NET Framework.
"Our ongoing relationship with IBM is designed to help enterprise customers developing high-performance database solutions with the .NET Framework," says Satyen Parikh, MD, Borland India.
The agreement with IBM underscores Borland's strategy to provide customers complete solutions for developing, deploying and managing the entire application lifecycle for the Microsoft .NET Framework without vendor lock-in. By integrating each phase of the application lifecycle, Borland helps enterprises deliver better software, faster.
The recently announced Borland C#Builder IDE is designed for heterogeneous enterprise environments, supporting database choice and flexibility.
