Borland Software India is reinforcing its commitment to platform independence and increasing the choice of solutions for partners with the recent release of its next generation JBuilder X and Delphi 8 development solutions for Java and .NET. Delphi 8 offers full support for all Microsoft .NET framework classes. The new edition of Delphi is designed to enable Delphi developers to create .NET applications as well as enabling developers to simplify migration of existing Win32 Delphi applications to the .NET framework.

As .NET becomes adopted on a broader, more widespread basis, Delphi 8 provides the Delphi .NET user community with a pivotal application creation and migration enabler.

JBuilderX includes true cross-platform support for development on Windows, Linux, Solaris and Mac OS. It is designed to help ensure a rapid application development approach to Java programming without trade-offs such as scalability encountered by some of the new RAD-style Java development environments aimed at less skilled users.

"These releases give customers the latest in high productivity development solutions - whilst reducing concerns around future, potentially costly issues such as proprietary vendor lock in, or platform migration worries - that's a powerful value proposition for the channel," says Borland Indian Subcontinent MD, Satyen Parikh. "The new features and capabilities offered by JBuilder X and Delphi 8 are designed to significantly enhance cross-platform integration and application migration support for customers, helping to build better software, faster - and more cost effectively", he continues.
