Tapestry WAFS features a pair of appliances, one at a central site and one at
a remote office. Its appliances communicating through protocols are optimized
for performance and reliability characteristics of a WAN. The Tapestry WAFS
appliance fits into existing IP infrastructures to provide seamless integration
between data center servers and remote office clients.

Caching and WAN-optimized technology helps ensure fast 'local-like'
performance across the WAN to Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices or file and
print servers. This approach helps provide secure and reliable file transmission
across WANs with global file sharing, lower IT infrastructure costs, and
centralized control.

The
WAFS is based on Microsoft's Windows platform, providing native integration
and security for branch offices using Microsoft applications.
