"I see this as a populist budget. There should be some serious vision and special focus that drives the growth of the IT industry. However, as a channel partner, every time, all our expectations and dreams fail"

Harinder Salwan, MD, Tricom Multimedia

"We have to wait and see. There had been many announcements from the finance minister and half of them are still in the pipeline. If the remaining also goes well, I think, we can expect some growth this year"

Nagendran Kadhirvel, CEO, GBS Systems, Chennai

"As far as I am concerned. I don't have any big expectations. If I have to request the state government while preparing the budget, it will be to reduce the service tax, for software dual tax, it can be removed"

Hasan Ali, CEO, CCS computers, Chennai

"IT industry is changing drastically every day. Every IT vendor has a tablet, however, visibility is very less. I expect the government to announce some new policies that attract Indian manufactures in the IT industry."

"I do not have any expectations. Because, in the last two or three budgets, whatever the channel partners expected, did not happen."

Pankaj Jain, CEO, Orient Technologies, Mumbai

"I expect this budget to be an employee-friendly one. Because, in every budget, the employees are made to suffer in one form or the other, through the taxes they pay. So, this budget should have some considerations from the taxes on employees."

Manoj Rathi, CEO, Diamond Infotech, Kolkata

Software taxation policy is not clear and I do not know why still the government is not taking hard steps. I also expect that in IT hardware, duty structure will also change."

Rajesh Dora, CEO, Printilink Computers, Bhubaneshwar

"The economy is very weak and the government should take serious steps on inflation and GDP. Also, the scams also spoil the sentiments of the people. Stringent laws are needed."

Divakar Prabhu, CEO, Integrated Marketing Company, Kochi

"I do not think any new changes will come in the budget. If there is something, the government should reduce the duty on the laptop import"

Manoj P Joseph, CEO, Neural Networks, Kochi

"The government should have strong focus on IT/ITeS. Apart from that, the central government should enable the state governments for setting up the special economic zones in states like Kerala"

Suresh Ramani. CEO, Techgyan

"I am only hoping that we do not have a populist budget. What India needs is a control of fiscal deficit . Next, India needs infrastructure . And finally, focus on growth. That's my wish list from the budget as of now."

Alok Gupta, CEO, Softmart online

""We would be delighted if the Finance Minister, in his budget, announces a final plan with dates for Goods and Service Tax (GST) implementation."

Pulla Reddy, CEO, SP Soft

"I am hoping that the government will introduce GST, which will help the IT channel community and will introduce more incentives (like STPI scheme) for the software export community. Also, I am hoping that they will remove excise on pre-recorded CDs/VCDs/DVDs."

Manoj Bajaj Dhandhania, CEO, CAS Computers, Tinsukiya

"Do you still think that we can expect something from the government?"
